Report written by Emma McArdle (aged 8) on Dundalk Young Irelands game v Rosemount (Westmeath). Emma is in 3rd Class at Knockbridge NS. My Report on todays game: Dundalk Young Irelands v Rosemount First Half: During the first 14 minutes no one scored, but into the 15th minute Mark Savage scored a point. Though Rosemount were losing, not long afterwards they scored a point and now a draw. It was a normal game, the teams were still level in the 17th minute, there was a substitution on the Young Irelands team Derek Maguire was taken on. In the 23rd minute Pter Nixon scored the 2nd point, the only score from play. Before half-time Rosemount scored two more points. Half-time score Rosemount 0:04 Dundalk Young Irelands 0:02 Second Half: Young Irelands lost control ! You could see Young Irelands were getting tired they were slipping everywhere and couldn't get to the ball in time. Rosemount were the stronger team of the two. Though both Mark Savage and Ciaran Conlon (sub) scored points there was nothing they could do, Rosemount had way better defenders than we had. In the last 6 minutes Rosemount were eight points ahead and we couldn't play any more. We couldn't possibly catch up. It was the worst 2nd half we ever played. Full-time score: Rosemount 0:14 Dundalk Young Irelands 0:04 Thank you to Emma for this interesting report. www.dundalkyoungirelands.com welcomes reports or articles from all ages on any aspect of the club.
