Dundalk Young Irelands 4-18 Annaghminnon Rovers 0-04

Young Irelands are only one win away from promotion to Division 2 and Intermediate League football following a big win over Annaghminnon at Pairc Eire Og on Sunday morning. In a game played in good conditions, Annaghminnon were no match for an Irelands team with much more to play for.  

The writing was on the wall for the Stonetown men after 15 minutes following three early Irelands goals from Ciaran Conlon (2) and Mark Savage. The home team continued to apply the pressure in the 1st half with further points from Derek Maguire and Conlon. Annaghminnons only response was two pointed frees from Shane Russell.

Aidan Kerr opened the 2nd half scoring with a point for Annaghminnon, however it was all one way traffic after that with Irelands running out comfortable winners. John Boland grabbed their fourth goal on 52 minutes.

For Irelands Simon Flynn, Ciaran Conlon and David Lally were best. Tony Martin and Aidan Kerr tried hard for Annaghminnon.
