DUNDALK YOUNG IRELANDS GFC LOTTO
There was no winner of this weeks Dundalk Young Irelands GFC Lotto draw (Week 1 - 15/05/2012), which had a jackpot of €10,300. The numbers drawn were 9, 16, 26 & 32. Next weeks jackpot will be €10,450 and tickets can be purchased from committee members.

Na Piarsaigh v DYI Div 4C 15-May-2012 Na Piarsaigh 2-14 - DYI 0-10. Irelanders junior team had a disappointing outing againest Na Piarsaigh. The Irelanders started brightly and with the aid of a strong wind managed to go two points up early on with two Sean Bailey points. Scores were exchanged with Stephen Lally, Dermott Mone and Sean Bailey scoring a point each. Na Piarsaigh managed to hang on in the first have chipping in with a few more points. But the Irelanders using the wind scored some fine points near the and with two more points from Sean Bailey and one from Paul McDonald to leave the score at half time 0-6 to 0-8 in favour of the Irelanders. Na Piarsaigh started the second have in fine form getting a goal early on, this set the mood for the second which Na Piarsaigh dominated. Irelanders found it hard to get out of there on half only scoring two points one from Dermott mone and one from Sean Bailey. Craig Mckenna pulled off some great one on one shoots throughout the second half. Na Piarsaigh went on to score 2-07 in the second half. Best for the Irelanders were Sean Bailey, Stephen Lally in the forwards while Graig McKenna, Jason Mulliagan and Alan Hanks stood out in defence. |

Division 3 league
Dundalk Young Irelands v Glen Emmets.Sunday May 13th throw in 3pm The Dundalk Young Ireland's defeated the Glen Emmets at Pairc Eire Og in the Division 3 league. The blustery conditions kept scores at a premium but the home side lead the entire encounter. The second half was more eventful with goals for each side. DYI – Craig Mc Kenna, Alan Hanks, Shane O’Connell, Aaron Rogers, Peter Flynn, Ciaran Murray, Michael Mone, Andrew Nixon, Kevin Keelen, David Lally 0.2, Simon Flynn 1.2, Sean Laverty, Dermot Mone 0.2, Mark Savage, Peter Mc Court . Young Irelands v Glyde Rangers 2-12 to 2-07. The Irelanders junior team recorded there first win of the season by beating Glyde Rangers . The score line does not reflect how well the Irelands played, if not for so many frees given away by the home team Glyde Rangers would have only scored two points. The Irelanders started of in top gear by going one goal and three points up within the first 8 minutes thanks to David Lally scoring one goal and a point, Mark Savage and Barry Piper also chiped in with a point each. Scores were exchanged by both teams from then on but the Irelanders finished strong with Anton Hande, Simon Flynn aand Conor Nixon taking some great scores. Overall the Irelanders hit six wides in this half. First Half DYI 1-06 to Glydes 0-03. The second half started of as the first finished with the Irelanders on top but the Irelanders hit a number of wides early on before Mark Savage, Dermott Mone and David Lally extending the lead. Glyde up there game mid way into the second half and they hit a purple patch by scoring two goals and three points with out reply. The Irelanders responded well and up the pace with Mark Savage running the show up front, glyde soon ran out of steam from them on. Dermott Mone chipped in with a goal and a point to settle the things down. Barry Piper and Mark Savage added to the score line late on to seal the win. Best for the Irelanders in defence Alan Hanks and Jason Mulligan stood out while Mark Savage and David Lally played well in the forwards. Final Score 2-12 to 2-07. Overall the game will be remembered for the return of Tom Rogers to midfield!!!!!!!!!! |

Irelanders go top of Division 3 league
Dundalk Young Irelands v Stabannon Parnells Friday 4th May throw in 7pm The Dundalk Young Ireland's defeated Stabannon away in a physical encounter in the Division 3 league. Stabannon were down to 14 men after only a few minutes of play when a dangerous tackle earned their number 6 a straight red. The numerical advantage coupled with a goal in the opening minutes of the second half gave the Ireland's a lead which despite all their efforts Stabannon simply couldn't narrow. Division 3 league
Dundalk Young Irelands v John Mitchell'sTuesday 1st May throw in 7pm The Dundalk Young Ireland's had a convincing win over the John Mitchell's in the Division 3 league. Both teams were sluggish in the first half and it wasn't until the second half that the Ireland's scored their first point from play, haven scored 4 from frees in the first half to match the Mitchell's tally. The second half was a different affair altogether as the Ireland's found their form with some excellent scoring. The Mitchell's only managed to score a single point in the second half which paled in comparison with the 2.08 tally racked up by the home side. First League Win Division 3 league Dundalk Young Irelands v Westerns Friday 20th April throw in 7pm The Dundalk Young Ireland's out performed the Westerns in Reaghstown in the Division 3 league. The Westerns opened scoring with a goal and it took the visitors a while to find their way initially but by half time the the Irelands had registered 1.05 giving them a 3 point lead. A scoring rampage from Sean Watters in the second half sealed the Ireland's fate and the Ireland's forward line proved too much going on to defeat the Westerns by 9 points. Also congradulation to Aaron Rogers and Lindsay Maguire who is expecting twins later on in the year, also to Alan Haughey and his wife Evelyn who is expecting another baby also due later in the year. |
